For sale is a Antique 1885 “Rare” LARGE 8 Air MERMOD FRERES Cylinder Music Box with Organette, Oriental Men Bell Automata, Drums and Wood Block. In working condition and sounds great! Signed by the builder dated 1885 New York in pencil on the organette and inscribe/signed and dated on the back of the drum. The wavy glass cover is original. The rosewood case is solid with some expected hairline cracks and some vener straps miss and can be restored or left as is. The top Bird inlays and front Flowers’s are fully intact. All the bells play clears. The reed organ plays strong and bellows are in great shape with no tears to the material. The tunes play very beautifully with nice timing. The tune card is complete with wonderful cherub graphics. All the Air/songs are beautiful and includes the rare arrangement of the “Wedding March”. Would make an incredible wedding gift.
