REGINA MUSIC BOX BASE CABINET. A while ago we commissioned a local craftsman to build one of these base cabinets for us, giving him an original one to copy. While the cost to build just one was very high, we were at the same time extremely impressed by the quality of workmanship and conformity to the original form and specifications. We then commissioned him to build 12 more, in order to get the individual price down to a level that was more realistic. It is much easier to stain and finish these cabinets to match a particular music box rather than to try and strip an older, beat-up cabinet and then go through the refinishing process. By going to Lowe’s or Home Depot, where they have a great selection of products and color charts, one can do this project at home over a weekend and come out with great results. Please refer to the 2nd picture, you will see how our own project resulted. (This finished cabinet and the music box atop it are, obviously, not included in the sale). The cabinet measures 23″ wide x 21″ deep x 34 high. It is intended for a 15.5 (disk size) Regina, and has 14 internal slots to hold the disks. The locking cabinet is also furnished with a key. We only have 2 of these cabinets left from our original supply of 13, so if you are seriously interested, act quickly, as once they are gone, no more will be produced, as the rising costs have made them to be cost-prohibitive.
