Very nice antique cylinder 10 song music box with a inlaid marquetry lid. Plays all the songs and registers on the pointer setup and than resets to the 1st song. Hand crank works fine. Sounds good but I have no idea what I’m listening to. Some songs sound better to me but I don’t really know the music. The wood case/box doesn’t have any major damage like chunks of wood missing, or dents. The finish is dull in spots and a nice refinish would really get this music box noticed. The sliding levers on the side do work. Stop, play, repeat, and change. Most of the marquetry is intact but it is missing a few small pieces. The lid might need a slight hinge adjustment. Overall this is a fine antique cylinder music box in need of a little refinish work but still nicer than some other ones I’ve seen. When I bought this there were some hand written notes written on a piece of paper, probably an identification made by the previous owner. 1800s L’EPEE DOUBS FRANCE. DECO MARQUETRY inlaid lid.
