I’ve been very careful with winding him. I only cracked it a couple turns to test it and he’ll run over a minute singing moving and chearping with just a coupleof turns. I think he should be serviced by a professional before fully winding him. I learned a long time ago you must be careful with these old clockwork mechanisms. There is some light chiping in spots to the gold gilded and gesso wood base but in much better condition than the last 21 that showed up here in 2015. Wires are slightly bent in spots. I’m sure the bird is missing some feathers as well. This thing would be beautiful with just some light restoration and cleaning.
