1890s Melodia Roller Organ – Organette – Excellent Working. This roller organ is beautifully restored. The case is excellent and the stenciling is. This was the fanciest case made for the Melodia, which was produced by the Mechanical Orguinette Company in New York. It has brand new rubber drive rollers, and plays easily and sounds great. There are some very minor scratches which were taken care of in the restoration, and not visible without very close inspection. The stenciling is stunning. It comes with one paper roll. It also has the rewind crank, and rewinds easily. The label is complete and in excellent original condition. The only issues is it is missing one front foot, which is a simple dowel. I think the feet are a later addition. If you are looking for a Melodia, this is THE ONE. You will not find a cleaner, better sounding or prettier one. But still has that faded look of antiquity mainly on the outside-inside retains most of it’s original shine… I didn’t want to scratch them up. That surprisingly compliments it aesthetically. I have up for sale a wonderful hard to find antique / vintage original – dated Dec 4, 1891 – NEW AMERICAN MUSICAL BOX hand crank cob roller organ manufactured by the C. Borden & Co -New York , NY. The box is in Excellent Original Condition and the case is beautiful as you can see. Came from the estate of an old antique dealer here in N. East Wisconsin who recently passed. This was in his personal collection. He started in the antique business back in the 40’s from what I was told by his relatives. Super Clean Original Condition. I simply wiped it down with an oily rag. The machine works and comes with 5 of the original cobs that were made for this specific model. It may need some maintenance or such if you are looking for maximum sound quality. The box measures approx 15″ across, 9″ tall when closed, and approx 10-1/2 deep not including the crank. It weighs roughly 10.5 lbs as you see it. ONLY THROW OUT THE BOXES AND PACKAGING AFTER YOU HAVE INSPECTED THE ITEM OR ITEMS AND FIND NO DAMAGE other than what may be noted in the condition report or shown in the pics.
