Containing 50 organ pipes: three stops, one for each of the three ranks of pipes. The paper “tune card” glued on a bass pipe lists the maker’s name and town on the last two lines (see photo). Reference: “Black Forest Music Clocks” by Karl Kochmann 1990. Translation of the tune card is roughly: 1. Polonaise (polish dance), 7. Folk song: “Walk Through Life”, 8. On the hour, the gong sounds the number corresponding to the time, and the organ is also activated. The two musicians on either side of the magician, raise their brass instruments and begin to pivot as the music plays. A tree on either side, frame the stage. A bird in each of the tree tops opens and closes its beak. The center figure turns his head with the music, while a bird in each hand, as well as the bird on top of his turban moves their beaks. As the music concludes, the musicians slowly lower their instruments. These clocks could be left as-is with no cabinet. This clock has an iron hoop on the back to suspend it from the wall. Typically, cabinets would be constructed in the countries of import, such as the U. There is no cabinet for this clock. It is my suspicion that the case for this clock has been lost to time. This clock was rebuilt poorly in 1914 (newspaper used to like the bellows from that era), and the original color scheme of the figures was painted over at that time. I carefully chipped away the outer layer of paint to reveal the original color schemes. The figures present condition reflect the clock maker’s original design. I restored this clock for its former owner about 12 years ago. I’ll be glad to answer any questions you may have. The clock is located about an hour and a half east of the Watch & Clock Museum in Columbia PA or one hour north of Philly, two hours west of NYC. Nice early, among the oldest, Symphonion music box discs manufactured in Germany. Much of the graphics have worn (typical), but many are still discernable. At least one of the disc’s information is written in German. One disc plays “The Fiesta March” by Roncovieri. Other discs play “Sunshine of Paradise Alley” by J. Bratton (1895) – popular show and then a silent film in the 1920’s, and the comic song “She Wanted Some Thing to Play With”. These are 11 7/8 discs. Amazing antique old music box! Missing key to music box. Glass on front is also cracked. The title was on the item when it was acquired but any real knowledge I do not know. I know nothing about music boxes where they were made and how to know anything about them. So please know the title is just my best guess from what the previous owner had on it but I know nothing about this amazing item. Everything about it is beautiful and soothing. Very old music box Christmas tree stand in working condition. There is 2 tunes on the pinned Cylinder. It shifts and plays both tunes nicely. It is a top key wind with its old key. The tree holder is ornate cast iron. The base housing is nickel plated brass. The inside mechanism is marked D. I oiled the mechanism and it all works fine. You can turn on and off the music. The tree holder rotates when it is on. Can you imagine the wonderful Victorian site of the Christmas tree rotating with a music box tune playing. The base measures approximately 14 3/4 in diameter. Circa 1900 Grand Roller Organ 32 Note Music Box w/Music Cob that measures 13 1/4. The oak case is in VERY nice original condition. Nice stenciled lettering on the top of the case. There is a large “S” shaped crank that shows a repair done on the threaded end done many years ago. It is dated May 29 1900 on the inside. The reed pads have been replaced recently. The flaps on the bellows have been replaced as well. There is one cob that comes with the machine titled “JESUS LOVER OF MY SOUL”, number 3008. Cob looks in good condition. This machine plays great with a big strong sound! Listen to the video. The case measures 24 3/4″ x 16″ x 13. Check out the photos. We would be happy to provide additional pictures upon request.
