A rare example of a 19th c. Swiss Music Box by Mermod Freres, Ideal Piccolo Model, interchangeable 11 cylinders (Total of four – three in lower drawer). Nickel plated movement with Jacot s Safety Device (exclusively used on Mermod Freres models), carved oak case with brass exterior hardware. Last patent date shown on plaque is 1890. It appears to be working condition, with small imperfections and expected wear from age and use. Includes crank and two keys. Dimensions: 11 h 30 ½ w x 15 d. New Hampshire Antique Co-op. LARGE ANTIQUE Walnut Case 10-TUNE CYLINDER ROLL MUSIC BOX. BEAUTIFUL INLAID DECORATION & Black trim. This stunning music box has its original works encased in a lovely cabinet with inlaid design. The lid and front are decorated with a matching marquetry inlaid classical design of three instruments (harp, flute and horn). There is one piece of inlay that is missing. There are signs of wear to the wood, minor blems. Please see all pics. The case is well built and solid. There is a brass key hole on the front, no key. The hand written paper that was found with this music box lists 10 musical compositions. This music box works beautifully and has wonderful sound. Measures 7 3/8″ high, 24 1/2″ long and 10 1/4 deep.
