This is a working hand-painted carousel music box depicting the Man in the Moon with angels circling below from the German town of Erzgeberge. The octagonal base is blue with white fir trees and gold stars. The angels sit on a platform of blue with gold stars that rotates around the Man in the Moon. The wind-up key is on the bottom and you play by pulling out the button on the side. Guten Abend, gut’ Nacht is the first line of the lullaby and means “Good Evening, Good Night”. The music box was made in Germany, plays perfectly and the condition is “like new”. A perfect gift for a newborn or baby shower.
