Symphonian upright disc music box on original cabinet, coin operated, double comb model. In excellent playing condition with nineteen 19 discs. Overall approximately 86high and 31 inches wide. Coin operation with extra wide teeth for better sound quality. Symphonian was known for exceptional tonal quality, and this example certainly exemplifies that assessment. This music box comes with an original stand and 19 discs. All mechanical components of the music box were restored and operate correctly. The coin operation functions as appropriate but with the coin retention area removed for easier use in a home. The base cabinet is equipped with storage compartments for the additional discs. Here is a great opportunity for a knowledgeable professional who repairs singing bird boxes. This is a really beautiful gilt over brass heavily detailed box with what appears to have all of the parts. I would assume that at one time this was about to be restored as evidenced by the carefully preserved bellows, which appear to be an extra set, black and white photos, patterns, and the other parts that were well contained with the box. From what I know of these, this is a better than average box with a hidden removeable base that would have held the winding key and expose the winding shaft. The gilding is very presentable. I did wind it and it ran, and it did sing slightly. If you have the knowledge and experience this is a great investment. It measures 4 1/4 wide, 3 1/4 deep and 1 3/4 high. This is a beautiful little Mira Swiss metal disc music box. It has a wonderful scene under the lid with a lake, boat and woods with only one small flaw near the limbs of the tree on the left. It has one disc titled Ben Bolt Trilbys Song #174 by Nelson Kneass. It works and sounds wonderful. There is also a tone (treble & bass) adjustment and includes the wind-up handle. There is something small (nut maybe) loose inside the case that is rattling around but does not seem to effect the workings as it plays fine. The case is in wonderful condition with normal wear and still has all 4 original feet on the bottom. The disc measures 7. We are a family run business. Please consider this wonderful Concert roller organ. It measures 18″x 12 1/2″ x 15, and has its glass front which can be opened or closed for more volume. The notes on this one are warm, comfortable and with a lot of vibrato. The gold stenciling on the wood is beautiful. It seems to be playing very well. The hardware looks to be original and works well. There doesn’t appear to be any repairs, breaks etc, other than work done on the mechanical parts (bellows etc) to make it work better. The directions are on the underside of the back door and the date of manufacture is stamped on the bottom – Nov 25, 1903. There is ear on the finish on top and stenciling on one side only. In The Shade of the Old Apple Tree. Jesus Lover of My Soul. Old Folks at Home. Plus several tunes with names we don’t know. The cobs appear to be in good condition. The bellows seem strong and everything seems to work as it should. There is general wear as would be expected with an item that is 115 years old. Questions are welcomed and promptly answered.
