CAROUSEL MUSIC BOX with 12 porcelain/ceramic animals – a menagerie. This is a large miniature carousel that measures about 17-18″ tall and 14″ wide. Made by San Francisco Music Box Company. Animal figures are removeable on both tiers/levels. Mirrors surround the interior of the carousel and outside is elegantly gilded looking with jesters and diamond mirror inserts. Wood is mahogany color. Tent top is made from multicolor (blue/purple/white) strips of fabric sewn together. Carousel has a special platform with a hole for the mechanical stem/pedestal (stem must be fully seated in this hole). Music box works – you turn the entire Carousel gently clockwise then release. Carousel slowly rotates as music plays (also slowly)! Melody is the Carousel Waltz. Still has original tag attached to top of carousel. No damage and very slight signs of wear. From a smoke free home. Note that this is not a toy for a young child. It is a wonderful display piece for the music box collector or carousel collector.
