This is a working hand-painted carousel music box depicting the Man in the Moon with angels circling below from the German town of Erzgeberge. The octagonal base is blue with white fir trees and gold stars. The angels sit on a platform of blue with gold stars that rotates around the Man in the Moon. The wind-up key is on the bottom and you play by pulling out the button on the side. Guten Abend, gut’ Nacht is the first line of the lullaby and means “Good Evening, Good Night”. The music box was made in Germany, plays perfectly and the condition is “like new”. A perfect gift for a newborn or baby shower.

Classic, beautiful handmade German Christmas Carousel wooden music box with stunning level of detail and craftsmanship plays “SilentNight” (Stille Nachte). Classic European styling, and hand painted winterscenes on the sides of the music box. The windup key plays Silent Night while the carousel slowly revolves. Dimensions are: 7 inches wide and 6 3/4 inches tall (at the highest Christmas tree). Swiss made music works, made in Saint Croix, Switzerland. Outstanding, pristine like-new condition, no flaws, no blemishes. It appears larger than what shows in the pictures. Please note the two pictures with a book in the background, showing real scale and size. Elaborately embellished, elegantly painted details and classic traditional Christmas carols angels characterize this truly stunning piece. This carousel Music Box brings artistic and technical craftsmanship together into one perfect harmony. This box may be truly one of a kind, as we could not find a similar one during our detailed searches. There is a stopper on the side, too, that works most of the time. The music box is in great condition and seems to be complete, but the paint is flaking off the platform and large areas of the base. It features a Christmas Tree in the middle and Santa with angels around it. This beautifully detailed music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in Germany by the KWO company. When the music is playing, the platform with the figurines rotates. The musical movement is a swiss made. To wind it up, just turn the key on the side clockwise. There is a working stopper, too. The music box is in excellent condition and complete. There is only few tiny paint chips that I barely recognized: one on the angel’s wing and lantern (pic 3) and one on the arm of the angel with the tree. Please look at all pictures and zoom in. The musical movement is a. The sound is full and it plays very well: “Jingle Bells”. To wind it up, just turn the key. The stopper on the side is not always working. The music box is in excellent condition, apart from a few issues: there is a little damage to the paint next to the key from a label that has been there (last pic). Both deer have chips to their hind legs. The music has a scratchy noise to it. Other than that this music box is absolutely stunning. Please look at all pictures and zoom in.
