He plays tune #37 Show me the way to go home. There are 2D size batteries in the base to power the lightbulb. I’ve always really like this particular Whistler. I think it’s just a really attractive design and carving.

Antique Original Carved Wood Black Forest Whistler by Karl Griesbaum. These Whistler’s are so cool. I read that they have one of the most intricate mechanisms with the bellows and plunger. This one is in beautiful condition. I think it does need to be cleaned. I’ve been able to get it whistling a couple times, but it is not work consistantly. His head moves back and forth as it whistles.
