COLLECTION OF MANIVELLE & TRANSIT MUSIC BOXES & MUSICAL ALBUMS. Last year, we acquired the assets of a renowned music box collector. These were a part of the collection, and most have his notes and descriptions as shown in the pictures. Almost all are antique. Eight (8) “manivelle” music boxes. These were made for children, but over the passing years have become sought-after collectors items. All are in excellent working condition. Two (2) “transit” music boxes. These small rectangular pieces are similar to musical snuff boxes, but with no snuff compartment. They play very well. Two (2) musical photo albums. Each plays music upon opening to access the inside pages. The first one shown in the pictures has a Symphonion 4.5 disk music box, very unusual and one we have never seen before. It comes with 4 disks and plays very well. The other album has a music box built into the spine, also very unusual. It too plays well. The Japanese motif of the album leads us to believe it may have been made in Japan. The aggregate price is heavily discounted from the individual market prices.
