Antique Symphonion Brevete Music Box Plays Beautifully, Includes 8 Discs (Video)

Antique Symphonion Brevete Music Box, Rare, Plays Beautifully, Includes 8 Discs. Rich, beautiful, deep sound. Dimensions: 8 1/2″W x 7″D x 4 1/2H. Please watch and listen to the videos and examine photos carefully. Inside paper affixed to the top has been ripped and removed and someone appears to have written 656 Fe 23. Significant splitting of the wood on the top of the box. See photos and videos. Significant nick/scratch on the right side near the crank. Scratches throughout the wooden body. Dusty and needs cleaning, but I won’t touch an antique! Scratches and significant wear on the top of the box where it is marked “Brevete” and Symphonium. All discs are tested and play. There is a scratching sound when the discs play; you can hear this on the video. The discs I can read are marked as follows. It’s in our Blood. There are 4 more, but I can’t read them. This original vintage music box plays like new and comes with 16 discs in the original canister. For 140 years of age this piece is in beautiful condition and was one of my mother’s favorite pieces. The development of Symphonion disc music boxes made tunes easy to add and relatively inexpensive, as well as making good music boxes more affordable. Symphonion (or Kalliope) boxes were originally made in Leipzig, Germany during the late 1880’s. They were destined to become some of the greatest music boxes ever known. They were designed to accept individual tune discs, allowing one music box to play many tunes. Mechanism is in excellent working condition. Lid has beautiful decorations. RARE Antique Brevete 17 Inch Walnut Disc Music Box and 28 Steel Discs

Nice old antique Brevete disc music box and 28 steel discs that are 17 inches wide. This is in nice condition but has wear and will wind but I cant get it to play the disc. It is from the early 1900’s to late 1800’s and I believe the case is made of walnut. Thanks and good luck! Most E-Bay people are professional and a pleasure to deal with. Brevete antique cylinder music box – 1891. The cylinder is 6 inches long. There is one mechanism that controls the speed that ranges from slow to fast. Another mechanism turns the player on or off. A third mechanism unlocks the cylinder so it can be changed. There is a spring loaded winding wheel that powers the music box. The lid of the hardwood case is elaborately hand-carved. The dimensions of the case are: 21 wide by 12.5 deep by 10 high. There is no key for the cabinet. The box is fully operational and the cylinder is intact with no signs of rust. Please look at the photos to examine more closely the mechanisms and the carving on the lid of the case. Antique EHRLICH BREVETE Ariston Music Box Organette with 11 Waxed Discs

Early Ehrlich Brevete Ariston Organette. Ebonized case with stenciled decals, turned column corners, hand crank organette with bellows. Measures 8.75 h. 5″ x 15.5″. An amazing thing is that this comes with its wood case with hinged lid, 10.5 h. X 17.25″ x 17.5″. Condition: Amazing condition, I suspect it was fully restored at one time? Sat in its crate for years. Wear to finish, currently cranks and you can hear the bellows play, but the hinge clamp is tight and affects play with disc on, this needs to be adjusted or fixed. Might need other adjustments, I do not work on these, but it does need adjustments such as the hinge and screw missing on the track (see pictures). On the back is stamped (fading but can still see) PATENT EHRLICH BREVETE with numbers 26721. Crank has some wear from rubbing to the metal rod. The last picture I took off the one panel so you can see some paint on the back and inside to determine if restored (The condition is too good so I only suspect) Ariston, but early model? 2nd to last picture can see more inside and has writing maybe a signature. Feel free to message me telling me about additional info on this piece. The crate hinged box/case looks awesome! And has wear and starting to fall apart on the back where door being opened and weakened couple slats, but overall the crate holds up strong. This drastically will cut back delays in the system & resolve questions more quickly. Antique German SYMPHONION Brevete Patent Wood Music Box & (28) Disc Lot. The Symphonion Company started business in 1885 and produced the first disc-playing musical box. Its founders were Oscar Paul Lochmann and two partners: Gustave Brachhausen and Paul Riessner. Within two years however, these two men had left to set up the Polyphon company that made similar machines in competition to the original firm. The Symphonion is notable for the enormous diversity of types, styles and models produced. No other disc-playing musical box exists in so many varieties. Discs of the same diameter but of differing scales to suit two types of mechanism can be found. #1413 & 58.12-2. 6 1/2″, Discs 5 3/4″. Missing inside paper, some repair & other wear/tear from age and use. Please review all pictures. Seems to work but is missing bars as seen in the pictures, therefore not all the notes are being hit/played.
