The music plays and you can hear the motor working but the carousel doesn’t spin. The gold tip in the center is a screw so I unscrewed it to take a look and it looks like the little plastic gears are broken/missing. I’ve inserted a photo of the issue. I do not know if this is the only issue as I did not take apart the bottom part. CHIPS & scratches are shown in the photos, these are mostly on the top and one on the wood base. The SIX horses are in nice condition. I didn’t find any flaws. It’s about 15 inches high and 12 inches in diameter at the widest point which is the top. The base is a little smaller. 1995 The San Francisco Music Box Company Royal Crest 0008/5000 Limited Edition. Wind Beneath My Wings. The outer box is heavy duty. Total weight is about 13lbs. Cost is exact and not set by me. It will be displayed on the label.

Very old maybe around the turn of the century or before Cylinder Type Music Box great for restoration needs. I did crank it a bit and it runs and plays. There are many broken teeth. These hand held, hand cranked, music boxes were referred to as “manievelle-style” music boxes. I believe the music box is Swiss or German as stated, although there is a partial paper label on the back with some French writing as well. Condition: Very good, although with expected wear. The most obvious wear is to the top of the box, where the crank has worn the lithographed paper from using the crank to wind the music box. There is also some minor loss to the wood on the right side. Measurements: 3″ x 2 1/4″ x 1 3/8.
