Vintage Italian marquetry triangular jewelry box table with a Swiss Reuge music movement. The first Reuge music boxes were made in 1865 by Charles Reuge This tables features intricate wood inlay designs and a working music box mechanism. 16 1/2 inches tall. Made in Italy with Swiss-made Reuge music movements. A spring-loaded cylinder with pins plucks the teeth of a comb to produce music when activated. Music Box turn key on underside, photoed. Serves as a small side table and a music box with a storage compartment inside. Age related changes to finish, photoed. Very good working condition.

This wooden table measures 17″ tall, 14 5/8″ wide, and 10 3/4 deep. The top opens up to reveal a place to store jewelry or other small items. When the lid is lifted the music box plays “Isola di Capri”. The lid has beautiful inlaid designs. This has three labels on the base. One says Made in Italy hand made, the second says; “Isola di Capri” Made in Suisse and the last one says; For perfect fit match numbers of legs and holes. There is a key to wind up the music on the base of the table, but the key missing to lock the cabinet. This piece is in very good condition, the music box is in working order. This has some surface wear; scuffs and marks. The inlaid design has a clear lacquer or varnish over it. This varnish has a few cracks if you look closely.
