The product is a unique Eschle automated bird cage from West Germany, featuring a jeweled cage. The bird will move if you wind-up the movement and blow into the hole (with the switch) to get the wheel inside to spin. I have disassembled and oiled with clock oil, but believe the attempts to glue patch the bellows (what makes the bird sounds) and this stiffening of the bellows folds added resistance to the movement. Once the wheel spins it will continue to spin until the mainspring runs out. I chose to leave the bellows repair to the new owner. There are many YouTube videos on doing this work. This decorative collectible is a rare find and showcases the craftsmanship of German artisans, making it a valuable addition to any music box collection.

When turned on the carousel does not run. There is only the faint distorted sound of music playing. Maybe you can have a better chance fixing it up!

Handmade wood inlay box. The winder is stuck. The box does work, and it does play. But the winder needs to be oiled. Very old, but in excellent condition given its age!

Vintage Wooden Music Box made in Japan – unsure of brand. In very good condition. See images and read description – it is missing one window shutter on the window to the right of the front door right side of window. Works perfectly and plays music – only flaw I can see is the one window shutter missing. Measures 10 inches wide by 5 3/4 inches deep and about 5 1/2 inches tall. I do have 2 other Vintage Wooden Music Boxes in my store.
