This is a vintage item, NOT NEW and not perfect. It is an unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features 2 girls being busy with gardening work They are surrounded by flowers and birds. This beautifully detailed music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in the former East Germany by the famous company “Wendt & Kuhn”. When the music plays, the inner pole with the birds rotates. The musical movement is a swiss THORENS movement. The sound is bright and clear and it plays very well: “Taler, Taler, du musst wandern”. To wind it up, just turn the key on the side clockwise. There is a working stopper on the side, too. The music box is in great condition, but unfortunately not complete: The bird in the center and one on the wire are missing, three birds are missing wings. Other than that, it is. The paint is bright and shiny and there are only very few scratches in the front of the base. Please look at all pictures and zoom in. Nice vintage music box. Dates to the early 1980s. This 1995 Porcelain San Francisco Music Box Co, Limited Edition, Emperor’s Garden, Double Horse Carousel with Canopy is in excellent working condition, with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. The canopy spins around as the horses go up and down slowly. Not sure what the name of the tune is that plays but it is very pretty. The music box works well. Do not over tighten the screws for horses or canopy or they won’t function properly. Extremely rare limited edition piece. Amazingly this is only number 75/4000. It is blue and white with beautiful gold details by artist Maureen Drdak. Please view all pictures to assess condition and to see measurements.
