Featuring an Antique Thorens Swiss Movement Marbled Bakelite Grand Piano music box. It has a Carmel marbled color tone with a gold colored trim and plays the song “Moon River”; the interior is a rare single piece of dark toned wood and gives the inside a much cleaner curved appearance. Perhaps my favorite aspect is how perfectly the music plays on this one; no vibrato or echo it plays extremely clean and beautifully. In good pre owned condition; I’ve done several repairs on this including; color matching the top metal accent to cover areas with paint loss; remounted the Bakelite lid to the base using high strength epoxy (threading for bolts no longer useable). Replaced the keys from another Thorens piano I have and re attached to this piano using high strength epoxy. There is one streak of paint loss below the keys and some minor epoxy bubbling present behind the keys and on the joint of the Bakelite lid; also one striation (line) below the gloss on Bakelite lid top. All wear blends with the piece and is hard to notice. The piece shows beautifully overall. 3 LBs 11 oz Weight pre packaging. These are particularly rare music boxes especially with the wood inlay interior this one has. They are magnificent decor items and this would be a great addition to any collection.
