Crafted in Switzerland by Reuge, this box plays an exceedingly rare and beautiful playlist. The tunes have deep connections to Jewish culture and history – and they sound amazing! The beauty of the music is matched by the clean aesthetic of the L’Auberson style walnut box. This vintage box has been serviced for the next generation and is an heirloom-quality piece. Lift the lid to reveal a highly-desired, world-class Reuge 3/72 movement. The movement is clean and shiny and it looks great. The mechanism winds up smoothly and the sound quality is terrific thanks to the solid, well-constructed box. It switches between the songs effortlessly. The music starts and stops (at song end) via the front slider button. This music box plays. Hatikvah – (The Hope) the national anthem of Israel. Kol Nidre – a prayer recited on Yom Kippur. Eli, Eli – a song associated with Jewish resilience and faith. The walnut box is in very good condition. It is structurally perfect. The finish shows only light wear and a one small ding along the top edge. The wood has been cleaned and conditioned. There was no tune label with this box. Please see the pictures for the beauty of this piece. The musical movement is in GREAT shape. It was cleaned, inspected and properly lubricated for years of use. The sound is rich and beautiful. There are NO resonance issues (buzzes/squawks) that can occur in vintage boxes. Please see the video to hear this box four yourself! The box measures 8-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ x 2-3/4. 80% of the boxes that I find have issues that need various fixes. My statements will be backed by quality pictures and a video.
