HUGE LOT OF 15! Vintage 1982 ENESCO “Carousel Waltz” White Horse Music Boxes. This listing is for a HUGE LOT OF 15 vintage music boxes from ENESCO! “Carousel Waltz” white horse music boxes from 1982. I found these in my grandmother’s collection. I’m not sure why she acquired so many of them. YOU WILL RECEIVE ALL 15! All of them have a music box that works. They all play the same tune. Some take a bit more work than others to get going, but I did successfully get all of them to play their music on their own accord. Dimensions (of each) : Approximately 7″ tall and 5″ wide at the base. I think all of the horses have chipped ears. One horse has a missing front leg , and another horse has a missing back leg. Other than these flaws, the horses themselves are in decent condition. You will find various levels of scratches in the woodwork bases. They are all still quite nice regardless. The horses originally came with a red and green ribbon on the top. Most of them have this ribbon still, but 5 of them are missing this piece. The majority of the music boxes have the original product stickers on the underside of the base (two golden stickers). A couple of them are missing one or both stickers. You may find some rogue dust or grime in the crevices, but I’ve cleaned them up pretty good! However, I’m willing to consider other offers too! I’d estimate the set to be around 30 pounds altogether. This listing is for a rare Swiss cylinder music box. This one is huge, featuring an extremely large movement and a wooden case with ornate inlay. This one is large and plays 8 songs. It appears to be in overall good condition. It ran when tested and was last serviced in 2018. The teeth are all present. The sound is very nice and rich. The case appears to be in good shape. There are some signs of normal wear and age such as some repaired veneer on the bottom of the front. SWISS MUSIC BOX BY MERMOD FRERES. FOUR (4) INTERCHANGEABLE CYLINDERS. A truly special and spectacular music box by the renowned firm of Mermod Freres, of St. If you are familiar with this company and it’s offerings, you know that they also made the Mira and Stella line of disk music boxes. Their history, dating back many generations, started with the manufacture of fine watches, then into cylinder music boxes. Later on in the 19th century, when disk boxes were invented, they were viewed as an existential threat to cylinder music boxes, due to their louder sound and seemingly infinite variety of music availability. The end result were perhaps some of the best-sounding cylinder music boxes ever made, and ones that a customer could keep adding cylinders to his music library. This particular example is known as a “Sublime Harmonie Piccolo”, playing large 18″ long x 2.5″ diameter nickel-plated cylinders. Fitted with a “Jacot’s Safety Check” (to prevent cylinder runs), speed control, tune selector, change/repeat mechanism and “zither” for tone moderation, this is about as good as they get. It was professionally restored and tuned and sounds just great. Here’s a video for your listening pleasure. The solid mahogany case measures 37″ wide x 16″ deep x 12: high (when closed) and 27 high (opened). It features extensive hand-carvings on the front, and is in wonderful condition. The original lock and key is present, and the extra cylinders fit nicely in the built-in drawer below the music section. The tune cards are replacements. Up for sale is an antique Swiss cylinder music box. This one is huge and heavy. We were told that it is a very early design. The cylinder music box played when wound. There are only 2 teeth missing and 2 screws, but it still plays. The piece appears to be in overall good condition. The crank is a little loose from age, but works fine. The skeleton key to lock the lid is not present, but it is not really an issue as none of the music boxes that we have found have them. There were note associated with this box that indicated that the governor had been restored in 2012. It indicated that there are serial numbers 34870 on the plate and that this is most likely the work of either Nicole Freres or Lecoultre Freres. We inherited this piece from a late relative that specialized in clocks and clock related restoration. We ourselves are not experts and so accuracy and precision is not guaranteed. Huge 30 Paillard Swiss Cylinder Music Box c. This music box measures 30 long. The movement is 20 long. When I spin the movement, the music box will play beautifully, but it wont stay spinning.
