Antique Victorian Swiss Jacots Cylinder Music Box Working with 12 Aires Circa 1888. Up for sale is this nice circa 1888 antique Victorian Jacot’s Swiss cylinder music box. It plays 12 songs and measures 19 3/4″ wide x 9 1/2″ deep x 6 1/2 tall. It features a play-stop lever to play continuously through all the songs until you move it to the stop position. There is a separate dial to select the number of a certain song to play with a change/repeat lever and it has Jacot’s patented 1886 safety check. The overall condition is very good, and everything works as it should. The wood case has some minor wear especially on the top lid. The original winding handle is not present, but it has a replacement key that works fine. The original song list, a piece of art in itself, is in very good condition. The original instructions (missing one corner piece) were laminated at some point and are included. You can hear it play by going to YouTube and searching for Spiceberry Lane Music Box. Appropriate action will be taken in regards to your involvement. This is a great little antique music box that has had a 1 cent mechanism added to it. It can be used or bypassed. Little till underneath to catch the pennys. Iv restored these cylinder boxes and disc players for 20 years or more, all aspects including replacement of broken teeth. This one Iv held on to with the coin op on it. The box plays 10 famous American tunes. Measures 20″ by 8+1/2″ by 7. The box comes with Jacot’s patented safety check Sept 22 1886. This catches the ratchet on the main spring should the paw break or anything in the box to be protected in this area. Quite heavy 17 pounds. Packed, expect it to size up to these figures at least. 24 by 14 by 12. This isn’t a toy. It should be played supervised by an adult. Up for sale is an antique Jacots Swiss music box. This one is huge! It features an ornately inlaid case, a crank, and a movement that can accommodate interchangeable cylinders. This listing includes one cylinder with multiple tunes. There is even a mechanical dial on the left to control which song plays! Only one tooth appears to be missing from the comb. The cylinder music box played when wound. There a string that is attached. When pulled, it allows the next song to play. We inherited this piece from a late relative and we ourselves are not experts.
