Antique Swiss Music Box. Works perfectly, sublime music. 22″ x 8.5″ x 5. More than 120 teeth in the comb. All the tips, dampers, and weights are intact. Unlike most other antique music boxes, this one is shiny and no rust at all. Even the lead weights under bass teeth have no rust. Multiple adjacent teeth are configured to produce the same music note/pitch, so that music can be arranged freely to use the same note in rapid succession or at the same time to make it louder. That’s a good feature of Mandolin music boxes. Serial number 2778 stamped upper left, near mainspring and lever. No other marks or tune sheet available to identify the maker. But experts may trace the maker Geneva or St. Croix school by the following facts. Tune changes happen at the beginning of a song. Sounds Verdi or Bizet to me, but not sure. Let me know if you identify the music! Previous owner attached metal plates to show this is the 36th item in the “Original Shackleton Collection”. That person must be pretty serious about mechanical music. In the rightmost position in the comb, there might have been a tooth, but either factory adjusted or professionally repaired. 1890’s Polyphon music box that plays an 8 1/8 diameter disc. There is one disc with this machine. It winds with the lever and plays nicely. I oiled the motor and it runs smoothly. The lid has a warp to it and hangs high in the front. Check out the photos for condition. Antique 6 air 13 cylinder mechanical music box was handcrafted in Switzerland and attributed to Paillard Vaucher & Fils c. Music box is lever wind, has Zither attachment on top of 3 combs that have about 40 teeth on 2 separate combs and 60 on the 3rd left one. The large brass 13 cylinder and its pins appear to be in good original condition. There are about 4 teeth missing on the right comb and a couple missing on the middle comb. The mechanism works but sometimes needs a light prodding to get it going. It probably needs oiled. There is at least one ruby jewel in the movement. The top of the case i. S beautifully decorated with marquetry work; floral center design and inlay border around the edges. 23″ L x 9 1/2″ D 6 1/4 H. No key for lock. Glass lid is original and lowers perfectly into place. ANTIQUE MUSIC BOX 19th Century 8 Airs (Songs) CYLINDER TYPE LEVER WIND INLAYED. ANTIQUE MUSIC BOX 1800s 19th Century- Box measures: 17″ W x 7-1/4″ D x 5-1/4 H. The cylinder is 6 long. Box is solid wood in good condition with cross swords and inlayed marquetry. You are getting an antique music box complete with original Programme card/paper attached to the underside of the top lid listing the 8 Airs (Song Titles). The music box was working, but not working properly at the time of this listing. It appears that all the pieces are intact but something is going on with the movement of the play/stop/ repeat/change switches. The lever will wind the box but it doesnt play for long and when it does play you cant stop it till the song ends. In some cases the little fan blade moving the cylinder somehow needs to be spun with your finger to make it play. The key to front lock of the music box is missing. This box looks to be intact but needs to be serviced to get it in top working order. Antique Nicole Freres Swiss 11.5 Cylinder Music Box. You are looking at a very nice working 11.5 cylinder music box with inlays. This is the one of a large private collection being offered and listed separately… Keep checking, will add new listings as time permits. The box appears to have been restored at some point… The finish is shiny as shown. As is as found… And the motor will run if you loosen the cylinder and mess with it.. 5 teeth missing on the comb.. 5 of the tooth pieces are included if they can be used for the restoration….. The cylinder needs adjusting and alignment as well as additional tinkering and repair to be operational… Since I know nothing about these machines, I cannot guarantee flawless operation… And this one definitely needs some repair.
