ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MANDOLIN INLAY 28 3 COMB CYLINDER MUSIC BOX. AN ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MUSIC BOX WITH A MANDOLIN INLAY TOP. IN GOOD ORIGINAL CONDITION SHOWING SOME TYPICAL AGE APPROPRIATE WEAR FROM NORMAL USE INCLUDING SOME LOSSES TO VENEER ON THE LID. IT HAS A REALLY PRETTY TONE AND ALL THE TEETH ARE INTACT. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE THIS LARGE. IT IS EXTREAMLY HEAVY. I BELEIVE IT IS A RUEGE (NOT MARKED). THEY SEEM TO HAVE THE MANDOLIN INLAY. Updated: This was sent to me by an advid collector. I have a little info for you. Reuge was not manufacturing Music Boxes like this at the time this was manufactured. This is most likely a Paillard pronounced (pie-yard). Massive Inlaid SWISS Interchangeable Cylinder Music Box PALLIARD? Please Scroll Down For More Photos. This estate fresh large interchangeable cylinder is in very good original condition. It plays beautifully and has a nice tone. Comes with 3 cylinders. There is some loss to the inlay on the top of the box as shown. It comes with 2 tune cards. The on/off switch will need to be adjusted as it does not turn off. One of the lower support feet is missing. The comb is perfect, all the teeth and tips are present. The spring is good. The box has a zither attachment. Measures: 34″ wide x 13″ high x 15 deep. This box is VERY HEAVY. I have provides 2 you tube videos which show the box playing outside. Inside the sound would be much louder. The door glass has been replaced. Please send me a message if you have any questions.
