Music Box and Movement in working order. This is a amazing Antique Swiss Music Box, Musical Automation Carousel Lipstick / Cigarette Holder, from the 1930s. Made of elegant solid wood, 4 bake-lite doors, and footed. Wind the key at the bottom and press the side knob (may have to press a couple times) this activates the doors to open and close as the music plays. Each door has a slot perfect for cigarettes, lipstick, jewelry, etc. This lovely rare intricate piece is in GREAT Vintage Condition consistent with age and wear, miraculously in great working order, does have surface wear from age. For your consideration is a stunning, preowned, mid-century, black, hand-painted, Japanese-themed, footed, wooden jewelry box with lacquer finish by TOYO, Japan. The black lacquered wooden jewelry box measures 13″ x 8″ x 5-1/2. A Geisha Girl in traditional costume resides behind glass in the center. The box is decorated with pagodas, bridges, mountains, birds, boats, trees and more. Opens vertically to reveal a mirrored lid/double hinged rectangle shaped area with original red fringe. Sides open outward to show deeper storage for larger jewelry. Finally, the two bottom drawers pull-out for even more storage. All drawers are clean and lined with original red felt. A silver tone metal lock can be seen; key is not included. Wind underneath to play music as the Geisha girl twirls around. NOTE: the mechanism is overwound and will require repair or replacement – a clock repair shop should help fix it. The glass is in great condition; no chips or cracks.
