Antique 1885 Mermod Frères Swiss 10-Air Cylinder Music Box. This is a lovely late 19th-century Mermod Frères 10-air cylinder music box, circa 1885. This is a classic Swiss music box with a beautiful illustrated tune sheet and a wonderful, crisp tone. The mechanism is in excellent condition – the cylinder pins are tall and sharp, the comb is complete, and it runs smoothly with a loud, clear, and bright sound. It plays exceptionally well. The case shows its age. The lid has a visible crack that goes all the way through, along with scratches on the floral inlay, chips, and areas of missing varnish/paint. The sides of the case are in much better shape with nice original finish. This is a very playable example of a Mermod Frères music box. While the case has honest wear and a crack in the lid, the musical movement itself is very clean and sounds fantastic. Comes exactly as pictured. Please review all photos carefully. 18″ Long x 9″ wide x 5.5 tall. Also includes the original zither muffler (the paper strip in the silver tube), which creates a softer, reedy tone when engaged. Vintage Reuge Wood Piano Music Box Plays Fur Elise Made in Switzerland WORKS! Plays Fur Elise by Ludwig Van Beethoven and is in working condition. Very nice condition with minimal wear/marks. The piano lid hinge is missing one nail and is a little loose but still will attached. There is a piece of tape across one end of the paper label on the bottom. Measures about 7 inches by 5 inches and stands about 3 1/2 inches tall.
