An original Regina Model 50 music box with a double comb in a mahogany serpentine cabinet. As noted by certificate provided, registered with the Music Box Society International #77499. Document from the factory November 28 1904. Includes 12 15.5 original discs. The mahogany cabinet measures 22.5″ wide by 20.5″ deep by 12.5 tall. The quality of the sound is excellent. TAHAN, the finest ebonist in Paris. This is an exquisite example of their work. The inlay top consisting of intricate mother of pearl and chased ormalu is remarkable. The serpentine shape is really attractive. There is the age related normal wear to the ebony finish at the front of the box. The music box plays beautifully which has 3 tunes, the first is Mendelson’s Wedding March and two other tunes, a dance and a waltz. The interior is in white satin, not perfect but age related deterioration but very presentable. This maker rarely comes onto the market, this example is exceptional. Please find a nice antique Polyphon Disc Music box made around 1890 in Germany. The wooden serpentine shaped case is about 28 x 26 x 16 cm (11 x 10 x 6,2 inch). It comes with 6 metal discs with a diameter of 21 cm 8,3 inch. On the inside of the lid youll find a great picture of playing cherubs. The comb has all teeth present.
