RARE ZIMBALIST 3/50 IN HANS JENSEN SILVERPLATE REPUSSE FLORAL DESIGN \”RIO RITA/ LA PALOMA/ MARCHETA\”. RARE ZIMBALIST 3/50 IN HANS JENSEN SILVERPLATE REPUSSE FLORAL DESIGN (SEE VIDEO). The box is a silver plated repousse Hans Jensen cabinet decorated with roses and vines that was made in Denmark and is stamped with a whale hallmark of the maker (see photos). The underside of the lid of the cabinet is lined with a purplish blue velveteen. The piece was then assembled by the Fred Zimbalist Company in the United States to include a Swiss made Thorens 3 tune 50 note changing musical movement. Each Zimbalist piece is an individual work of art, and no two are exactly alike. The silver plating of this piece has been professionally polished and is in excellent condition. The musical movement has a winding key located on the underside of the cabinet, and when wound the musical movement will start playing immediately when the lid of the cabinet is opened (see video). WEIGHT: 2.3 lbs. DIMENSIONS: 8-1/4″ wide x 4-1/2″ length x 2-3/4 tall. A member of the renowned Harmonicats, (he played on the Ed Sullivan show several times), and was a member of the SPAH, Society for the Advancement of the Harmonica.
