A Thorens AD30 music box mechanism has been crafted into an old jewelry box carcass. The mechanism is working fine and has been completely overhauled (disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, new pinion gear, timing set, dampers adjusted, comb aligned). Included are 8 discs listed below. The condition is nice, there are some war wounds (dings and dents). The top left corner has been repaired (see photo). The titles on some of the discs are hard to read. Rare Antique Regina Music Box – Sounds great! This Regina Music Box is in great physical condition especially considering it’s age. Very little overall wear to the body, though there are some scratches and dings. Then the lever is wound the gear will spin to play the record, the stop function works when record is inserted. The gear itself seems to be loose and slides from the right to left, it stays in place when a record is inserted. The hand crank can be wound; however, it does not remove from the player as it should, this does not prevent the record from playing. Teeth that play music appear to be in good condition. Here is a RARE Part that often turns up missing when the machine that it goes to gets moved or changes owners over the past 100 years! It is an Original one of the Larger Size Horn Elbow that was used with Many of the Table Model Regina Music Box REGINAPHONES. The ones with the Removable Outside Horn that screws into this size Horn Elbow. The Horns were usually either Large Nickel Plated Morning Glory Pedal Horns or Wood Horns that also screw into the horn elbow. If you have one of these Reginaphones that is missing this part, you probably already know how hard it is to find one. This Larger Size Horn Elbow was also used on many of the More Deluxe Models of Columbia Outside Horn Phonographs, Gramophones, Graphophones, such as the Model “BD”, “BI”, “BII”, “BY”, “BJ”. This one has a fair amount of the nickel plating worn away and some dents on one side of it where someone pound it for some reason many years ago. But this is a 100+ year old Original one. The threads will fit any of the standard size Columbia Screw-On Horns, like what came with these machines when new. The inside diameter of the threaded opening is just under 2″ (maybe 1 15/16″). The opposite end of the elbow that drops into a hole and likely has a ring that holds it in place (probably screwed down) is about 2 1/4 diameter. See the pics for details of the style and condition.
