Vintage Thorens Cuendet Switzerland No 40 Music Box 3 Songs 5116 – 5117 – 5120. The music box is in very good condition. The box has a few dings and some light scratching from age and use, but no chips or cracks. It has a glass pane over the mechanism. The music box works, but has an intermittent squeak as the barrel is turning. It’s not marked Thorens anywhere on the box but it looks exactly like other examples I’ve found. I believe the box is mahogany and there is a medallion inlayed on the lid. The number 40 is stamped on the bottom. There is a label on the inside of the lid with the three songs (all waltzes) listed. I’m assuming the numbers are related to the song titles. The box is 2 3/4″ high, 6″ long and 4 wide.
