Up for sale is an antique Swiss cylinder music box. This one is huge and heavy. We were told that it is a very early design. The cylinder music box played when wound. There are only 2 teeth missing and 2 screws, but it still plays. The piece appears to be in overall good condition. The crank is a little loose from age, but works fine. The skeleton key to lock the lid is not present, but it is not really an issue as none of the music boxes that we have found have them. There were note associated with this box that indicated that the governor had been restored in 2012. It indicated that there are serial numbers 34870 on the plate and that this is most likely the work of either Nicole Freres or Lecoultre Freres. We inherited this piece from a late relative that specialized in clocks and clock related restoration. We ourselves are not experts and so accuracy and precision is not guaranteed.
