I have up for sale a wonderful antique / vintage original Estate Fresh patent dated Nov 28 , 1882 Ernest Paillard Cylinder Music Box. This is a small size cylinder box, it measures approx 5-1/4″ across, 3-1/2″ deep and roughly 2-1/2 tall not including the small brass tack foot. Winds up from the underside of the box , key wind. The box works but needs a repair to the hold the tension on the spring. It winds from the underside but as it builds tension there is nothing there to help the springs tension and it unwinds quickly. It you turn the cylinder , you can hear it play – sounds good to me. The teeth on the comb are excellent – no missing nor broken. The right side part of the frame for holding the top glass is missing and the very bottom has only one brass tack. The little triangular wood pieces have fallen off over time as you can see. ONLY THROW OUT THE BOXES AND PACKAGING AFTER YOU HAVE INSPECTED THE ITEM OR ITEMS AND FIND NO DAMAGE other than what may be noted in the condition report or shown in the pics. SAVE THE BOX AND ALL PACKAGING , PICS OF THE OUTER BOX AND INNER BOX , AND OF THE DAMAGED ITEM WOULD BE REQUIRED. THIS IS PART OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITY WHEN IT COMES TO DAMAGE. I PACKAGE TO THE VERY BEST OF MY ABILITIES BUT SOMETIMES THINGS HAPPEN THAT ARE OUT OF OUR CONTROL.
