A tall, imposing, and extremely scarce Jean Fanis upright coin-operated, automatic (barrel) piano; complete, but not playing, for restoration. We cannot find an entry in any reference work for this machine; (so, if you have knowledge of this specific machine, please advise). Quarter sawn oak cabinet measures 81″ in height X 57″ wide X 36 depth; cabinet appears to be original rich finish. Heavy machine, on original heavy casters. Original, huge, spring-drive iron-cased motor, piano components, barrel, crank, coin slot, lighting fixtures (and frayed internal wiring) and maker’s original brass name plate. Top pediment lifts off. We have no keys for the locks. The glass bead drapery shades for the double brass electric sconces are fraying. No bulbs or shades for the two standing electric decorative brass lights at front. There are three glass reverse painted front panels — the center arched panel has old partly repaired cracks, and one small triangle of missing glass. The two dancing girls to left an right are also reverse painted and intact. The interior is very dusty and dirty, but appears complete. We can locate no information on this Jean Fanis coin operated piano — and we have tried! For restoration (although it is impressive standing silent). See photos; and, if additional photos needed, just ask. We did not move the machine from the wall to take back panel pictures, but back is complete. We have labor to assist in moving the machine from the building and loading it. NOTE: We added three interior photos per request. The motor, which is intact, is located beneath the coin slot end of the barrel. The machine is against the wall and VERY difficult for one person to move, so lifted the crown pediment and shot these photos from a ladder, looking down into the interior of the machine.
