A nice example of a 19th century Regina footed mahogany disc music box with carved decorative edges on the molded and paneled lift top case, with decorative Classical figural print with a woman and cherubs playing instruments on the underside of the lid. Unlike many models from this time period, the winding crank mechanism is upright in the interior rather than on the side. The interior shows Regina in large embossed letters, Serial number 26190. This model was made by Regina Music Box Co, Rahway, New Jersey, with a latest patent date of 1897. The music box is good working order with fives 15 ½” metal song discs, including “Ben Bolt Song from Trilby, #1411. This disc music box is in very good condition with great sound, with some old hinge break repairs, re-glued foot, minor imperfections, and light wear commensurate with age and use. A wonderful nostalgic musical machine to have in your home, especially around the holidays! Dimensions: 12 ½” H x 22 ½” W x 20 D. New Hampshire Antique Co-op. A local family business since 1983.
