REGINA STYLE 250 REGINAPHONE MUSIC BOX & PHONOGRAPH. We are offering a rare Style 250 Reginaphone, of which very few were made. Serial # is 2500275. Plays size 15.5 disks. This is an upgraded Style 50, which was Regina’s most popular offering. With a solid mahogany cabinet, short bedplate, double combs, etc. The Style 50 music box was a technological marvel in it’s day. Later on, when Regina faced the onslaught of Edison, Victor et al, they re-engineered many models to this new “hybrid” form that also played phonograph records. While most Reginaphones were outside horn machines, some, such as the 240 (“Lion’s Head”) and this, the 250, had inside horns. Most experts consider these inside horn Reginaphones to be among the finest sounding ever made. The double combs, without missing or replaced teeth, are absent of any damper squeaks as well. There is a “zither” adjustment for tone moderation, and a speed control as well. When switching from music disk to records, one simply removes the disk, inserts the tone arm and turntable, and kit’s ready to play in about 15 seconds. Also supplied is a base cabinet, with disk and record storage on pull-out shelves, that opens to the side. Although rectangular in shape, it has a serpentine top to match the Reginaphone. Overall dimensions are 25″ wide x 21″ deep x 44″ high (when closed) and 60″ high (with music box lid open).
