Vintage Fred Zimbalist Hand-Etched, Nickel Silver Jewelry Box For Jewelry, Rings, Candy. Elegant mid-century, hand-etched box. This is an heirloom Fred Zimbalist creation and may be used for jewelry, trinkets, or candy. The lovely, ornate case is nickel silver and is beautifully hand chased with ornate floral and geometric designs covering the entire box. The top is hinged and fitted with a Swiss music box movement in the lid. The music plays as the lid is opened, and the stops as the lid closes. The movement plays Smoke Gets In Your Eyes. This box stands 8-1/2″ high and measures 7″ x 7 at the feet. The silver case was hand chased by artisans in India. Zimbalist is well known in the music box world for his highly prized and unique Nickel Silver plated creations. Each creation is unique and no two were exactly the same.
