For your consideration is this lovely vintage Music Box from Germany. It is a unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features an angel playing the pipe organ and 2 angels above are playing their fanfare to it. This beautifully detailed music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in Germany by the famous “Wendt & Kuhn” company. The musical movement is a Swiss Thorens movement. The sound is bright and it plays very well: “O you joyful”. To wind it up, just turn the key in the back clockwise. There is a working stopper in the back, too. The music box is in great condition, apart from the sitting angel’s bench is missing both rear feet (see last picture), but the bench sits tight with the middle wooden peg. She also has a few paint chips on her wings. Other than that, the music box is. Please look at all pictures and zoom in. Nice vintage music box and perfect for Christmas. Dates to the early 1980s.
