RARE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CAPITAL CUFF CONE CYLINDER MUSIC BOX TYPE C! This exquisite Capital Cuff music box is the apple of every collector’s eye, but most live their entire life not owning one. These rare transitional machines very seldom are available and even more unusual, the giant type C cuff box, playing the largest cuff cones of them all. These pieces, the “A”, “B”, and “C” were all transitional pieces and were among the first instruments with fast interchangeable cylinders, sleeves, or cuffs. There are eleven cuffs with this piece, or a total of eleven tunes. I have recorded one of the cuffs for all to hear. It was made for a very short time, from 1894 to 1895. When the disc music box took off, these fell away quickly. The mechanism is excellent, plays well in tune, loud, and it has all its original tuned teeth. The lid print is original as well.
