Antique music box collectors… I have an especially rare treat for you! This particular item was made by Paillard and it was built specifically for the 1878 World’s Fair in Paris, France! There are even original papers included which list all of the music box’s different owners over the years. These papers certainly add to the historic significance of this wonderful antique/collectible item. Naturally, this particular music box is. And is truly a one-of-a-kind item so do not hesitate if you want to own this wonderful piece of history! As far as condition goes, I would say that this music box is in very good to excellent shape overall with very minimal wear considering its age. It was refinished 20 years ago which is why it looks so nice… Particularly on the outside cover. Also, please note that it still plays all eight songs perfectly which is incredibly rare for a music box that is some 140 years old! I do want to mention that that repeat switch does not seem to work but this should be a fixable issue. Just FYI, this music box is 29 inches long , 9 inches tall , and 10 inches wide. It weighs 44 pounds as well. I certainly wish you the very best of luck and encourage you to check out my other auctions as well!
