For your consideration is this lovely vintage Christmas Music Box from Germany. It is a unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features 9 sheep, father moon and 3 angels with stars. This beautifully detailed music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in the former East Germany by the famous company “Wendt & Kuhn”. When the music plays, the ring with the sheep rotates around father moon. The musical movement is a swiss THORENS movement. The sound is bright and it plays: Wer hat die schoensten Schaefchen? Who has the nicest sheep? To wind it up, just turn the key on the side clockwise. There is a working stopper on the side, too. Unfortunately, the music has a clicking noise to it. Otherwise, the music box is in excellent condition and complete. The paint is in great condition, there is a repair to father moon’s foot and leg, though. Please look at all pictures and zoom in. Nice vintage music box. Dates to the 1980s. Marked with the Erzgebirge/expertic label from that time period. It measures about 9″ tall and 6″ wide. Comes from a clean and smoke free home.
