For your consideration is this lovely vintage Music Box from Germany. It is a unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features an angel playing the pipe organ and 2 angels above are playing the fanfare to it. This beautifully detailed music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in the former East Germany by the famous company “Wendt & Kuhn”. The musical movement is a swiss THORENS movement. The sound is bright and clear and it plays very well: “O Du froehliche, o du Selige”. To wind it up, just turn the key in the back clockwise. There is a working stopper in the back, too. The music box is in great condition, apart from the red angel missing part of her fanfare. The sitting angel has a repair to her right arm and is missing a hair curl. Other than that, the music box is. The paint is bright and shiny. Please look at all pictures and zoom in. Nice vintage music box and perfect for Christmas. Dates to the early 1980s. Marked with the Erzgebirge/expertic label from that time period. It measures about 5 3/4″ tall and 4″ wide. Comes from a clean and smoke free home.
