Very early 1892 REGINA music box, in golden oak case, with 30 tune discs
REGINA music box in golden oak cabinet, including thirty (30) 15-1/2 inch diameter tune discs. This is a very early example, assembled in Jersey City, New Jersey during late 1892 from imported Polyphon parts, before the Regina factory was established in Rahway. It has NOT been refinished at all. The beautiful shine you see is all original! The mechanism has been professionally cleaned and lubricated and plays absolutely like new. As can be seen in the photos, the comb is all original, shiny and has no damage or ever had any repairs. Damper rail was ultrasonically cleaned to remove accumulated dust and all dampers are perfect and work like new. The governor assembly was also cleaned and had a new jewel installed, but is otherwise all original, and runs smoothly and silently. Label in the lid listing discs available is typical of the earliest American made Reginas and is in fine condition with no tears or missing areas. ALL 30 included tune discs have been meticulously inspected and realigned, followed by test playing. They all play perfectly. The sound from this particular mechanism is unusually strong, with a gorgeous very deep, sonorous bass, especially when played on a proper solid wood table or countertop. , OR, item may be picked up in Northeast Georgia.
