Vintage Sankyo Japan Christmas Carousel Music Box Knee Hugger Elf Elves On Balls. Rare wind up music box by Sankyo (marked on the bottom see picture). This is a rare find because they are made with materials that usually don’t last. It is cardboard and styrofoam with a wood base where the music dial is attached. This one has 4 knee hugger elves on festive balls. The elves are wire wrapped with felt to pose them and then a plastic/rubber face. The top should have a red ball but that is missing. The top could easily be decorated with so many things to personalize it to fit into your yearly decorations. The top is slightly loose, but still attached, but if it looks crooked you can easily adjust it. The elves can slightly be moved but they are glued to the balls. I did not mess with them but once you have it you can decide if you want them looking out or ahead. There is no discoloring or odors. It is extremely clean. Even the white felt is very vibrant. Some of the cardboard is bent but overall for its age it looks amazing. It is about 11 1/2″ tall and probably would be 12″ with the ball. This piece would be very fun to add to. Vintage mini blown mercury beads or tinsel decorations could really personalize it to many different color schemes. Very fun and rare Christmas piece. Please see pictures for actual product.
