On the bottom is a round hole that once held a brass call bell (bell is no longer present). Appears to be the work of Emaux de Longwy; a hallmark is on the white bottom of the tile but cannot be fully deciphered unless the trivet is taken apart. Cleaned and oiled, the music box works well. Originally, the trivet had a brass Call Bell — today, only the hole remains. An example of a trivet with a Call Bell is presented in photo #12, which is not the music box in this listing, but another with an intact bell. The back has is the rectangular residue from the original paper label that once listed the 2 airs that the cylinder plays. Hand painted in vibrant colors of French Blue, green, pink, lavender and yellow. Art Deco design featuring flowers, buds, and leaves. The music cylinder winds from the bottom, and the off/on switch is front center. Dimensions : 2.75H x 11.50L x 11.50W. Tile is 8.25 Square. Weight : 4.00 lbs.
