My uncle was a clock and music box collector, and I’m cleaning out his work shop. I know he was excited when he got this box because of the INCREDIBLE selection of tunes. I learned enough from him to know what I’m looking at but not enough to even attempt a repair! The mainspring was broken on this box, and I know he was either about to order a replacement or had already done so. If he did and it arrived, I have been unable to find it. In any case, he was meticulous when working on an item, and I believe that all of the parts, even the tiny screws, were in the tray he kept for parts when disassembling a machine. I have included a picture of all of the parts that are there. Now for the INCREDIBLE part – the tune sheet lists.. The Star Spangled Banner. The Red White and Blue Britannia. The good part is that all of the teeth and the tips in the comb are intact and the pins on the cylinder appear to be good. Cylinder is 7 3/4 long. I understand that finding even one or two national tunes is unusual, but 8 identifiable patriotic tunes is unbelieveable! The box is solid though worn. The interior glass is cracked, but the frame is intact. Measures 9.5″ by 7″ by 20. Please see all photos and ask all questions.
