The musical movement is made by the craftspeople of Reuge, located in St. The mechanism winds up smoothly and functions perfectly. It is a 36-tooth mechanism, so it sounds richer than the typical 18-tooth economy movements in most jewelry boxes. The music starts and stops by opening and closing the lid. The original Reuge label is on the underside of the lid. This music box has felt-lined compartments for your treasures. The key is included and it works. This music box plays the Christmas classic, Silent Night. The box is in excellent condition. It is structurally perfect. There are no notable flaws or damage. The sound quality is very good and the little movement throws a lot of sound. There are NO resonance issues (buzzes/chirps) that can occur in vintage boxes.
