This machine was probably made in the 1890/ 98 by Swiss craftsmen and is a 8 Airs (tunes) music box with songs of the era, normally from Operas or Operettas. This music box is 12 1/2″X 7″ X 5″ in dimensions; It has a cylinder 4 1/2″ in length and 1 1/2cylinder width and a 32 teeth comb with 1 broken tooth and probably a couple of teeth tips also missing. I Had stained and sealed with clear satin finish the wood box top and all sides to improve its appearance. There is a partial Airs card in the inside of the box cover, but I don’t think is for this machine. I used to refurbish music boxes, but at my age of 87 years young my vision and my shaking hands don’t let me perform the delicate work required to put this mechanism working like they should. As always, we double box all music boxes to make their trip as safe as possible.
