Up for sale and your consideration is a Vintage Reuge Alabaster and Metal carousel music box manufactured in Italy during the early 70’s. Function: Designed as an ornamental dispenser, it is traditionally used to hold and display cigarettes or lipsticks. Mechanism: It features a Swiss musical movement that plays a melody (Doctor Zhivago’s Edelweiss) while the carousel opens and spins. Design: The piece is often adorned with decorative alabaster, featuring cherub figures or ornate metalwork. The musical mechanism is in excellent condition as is the exterior of the unit with no chips or scratches. I acquired this Carousel Music Box during my travels in Italy during the early 70’s and have always treasured this Carousel Music Box and has been admired by my guests when visiting.
