Zimbalist Music Box with Thorens Mechanisms. This extraordinary Chest is made of brass with nickel silver over lay by Fred Zimbalist. Inside the chest houses 8 Thorens 72 note mechanism made in Switzerland, playing 3 tunes each. Plays 24 classic tunes. The mechanisms have all been recently serviced and needs nothing. Zimbalist are all one of kind regarding the etchings. I have never seen this piece in my many years of dealing with Zimbalists very unique. Measure 28″ Wide by 16″ deep and 17 High. Large enough for a coffee table or an ottoman (coffee and cushion are not included). I was able to identify 18 of the tunes, that leaves 6 un-known. Minuet Waltz by Chopin. Till the End of Time.
