Rare Large Antique Swiss Cylinder Music Box with Inlaid Lid, attributed to Mermod Freres. This Swiss music box is an absolutely beautiful example with a fine playing arrangements of 8 tunes, many have mandolin repeating note effect and end in overture-style “big finishes”. To the left of the box you have the winding crank handle which is pulled back and forth to wind the mainspring. To the right of the box there is 2 levers one for the play/stop feature and the other to change or repeat the music. The box will continue to play the tune unless the lever is locked.
